You will join a global company that has been growing successfully since its founding in 1945. Together, we lead and leave a positive impact on societies, companies, and people around the world.

You will join our Structures Healthcare team

As our new Senior/Principal Structural Engineer, you will be part of a talented, fun, and diverse team working on a number of exciting national and international healthcare projects. We actively encourage design flair and innovative solutions. Our multi-disciplinary offices are located throughout the UK.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Develop and agree structural concepts and design philosophies
  • Inspire and enthuse the engineers and technicians on your projects
  • Liaise with clients and collaborators, representing Ramboll at project meetings
  • Take ownership as day-to-day lead on a project or part of a project

Your key deliverables over the first 12 months will be:

  • Grow and maintain a network of contacts and be a great ambassador for Ramboll
  • Take an active part in helping us meet our Healthcare Structures’ goals and aspirations, which include Projects we are proud of, Sustainability, Digital Design, Team Culture, Learning and Knowledge, and Work Winning.

Your starting point for constant growth

From the moment you join Ramboll, we will support your personal and professional development so that you grow with the company. For this role, we believe your starting point is:

  • Chartered with the IStructE, ICE, or international equivalent
  • An excellent communicator capable of explaining complex engineering principles in plain language, verbally, in writing, and through sketching
  • A track record of working on projects with high levels of design, sustainability, or re-use of existing assets
  • Experience in the design of primary construction materials (steel, concrete, timber) and a good general knowledge of building construction—experience with MMC would be beneficial.
  • A passion for sustainable solutions
  • A multidisciplinary mindset and an aptitude for learning about the wider aspects of building design
  • Must have demonstrable experience with UK healthcare sector projects
  • Experience with international healthcare sector projects would be advantageous.

Personal qualities that will help you succeed in this role include:

  • Great with people
  • Diverse in your outlook and with something different to bring to the table
  • A curiosity to explore – ‘is there a better way to do this’
  • Happy to ask questions and to answer them!
  • Willingness to take responsibility for your projects
