A little more about your role…

1. Undertake structural engineering design for discrete work packages, including reports, calculation packages, and specifications.
2. Supervise technicians in producing 3D models and drawings that clearly communicate structural solutions.
3. Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams for coordinated design solutions.
4. Communicate design solutions verbally, through sketching, drawing, writing, and presentations.
5. Visit sites for inspections during construction and assess existing structures.

Your team

Our Structures Midlands team, based in Birmingham, comprises over 20 members working on various public and private sector projects across the Midlands, including healthcare, commercial, education, retail, and rail sectors. Our office offers opportunities to collaborate with other disciplines within WSP and is conveniently located near the train station in The Mailbox district.

You will report directly to the lead structural engineer and engage with multidisciplinary teams, contributing to project success.

What we will be looking for you to demonstrate…

• An engineering degree with progress towards Chartered status (MIStructE / MICE).
• Knowledge of structural engineering principles and Eurocodes.
• Understanding of analytical techniques and design software.
• Interest in low carbon design and embodied carbon assessment.
• Proactive attitude, responsibility for your designs, and willingness to support team members.
