Job Description

Vertical Recruitment is working closely with an award-winning Independent Structural Engineering Consultancy. The business remained strong throughout 2020 and now, due to a significant project win, they can offer the chance to work on a 1 Billion pound landmark regeneration project. This includes several high-rise buildings for residential, retail, and commercial use.

The business is looking to appoint a Senior to Principal level Structural Engineer into their well-established and successful design team in Central Manchester. Working closely with Directors, the Principal Engineer will contribute to the operational delivery of projects, manage client relationships, and oversee a team, developing their skills with a view to taking on a fuller managerial role in due course.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Manage engineering designs in line with client requirements.
  2. Review designs produced by junior staff.
  3. Take a lead role in the technical delivery of projects, providing supervision and guidance to less experienced staff.
  4. Act as a recognized point of contact for clients on projects.
  5. Contribute to the day-to-day management and control of projects, including financial management, compliance checks, environmental, and health and safety procedures.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience:
  • Degree qualified in civil or structural engineering.
  • Chartered MIStructE.
  • Proven experience in technical competence, conducting meetings, and working effectively as part of a team.
  • Experience working in a consultancy environment.
  • Knowledge of residential, student accommodation, mixed-use, hotels, sports, and leisure projects.
