The successful candidate will work with the Professional Lead for Forensic Clinical Psychology/Head of Service for Complex Care to provide high-quality specialist clinical and forensic psychology services to mentally disordered offenders under mental health legislation.

The role involves working with forensic patients within the Orchard Clinic medium secure unit and during follow-up to other services or the community. The service has regional and national commitments, requiring high-quality psychological assessment, treatment, and evaluation, along with providing specialist support and consultation to clinical teams, professionals, criminal justice, and carers.

Additional responsibilities include teaching, supervision, consultancy, research, and contributing to governance of psychological practice. The role also involves utilizing research skills for audit, policy, and service development, with flexibility to develop specialized areas of expertise.

There are close links with the East of Scotland Clinical Psychology Training course and other forensic services in Scotland and England.
