Job Description

Job Title: Senior/Principal Platform Systems Mechanical Engineer

Location: Barrow-in-Furness

This position will require full-time on-site presence.

Salary: Competitive

What you’ll be doing:
  1. Developing the package of design evidence required to justify a safe, effective design and generate customer confidence in the design solution.
  2. Specifying and assisting in the build of prototypes, products, and systems suitable for testing.
  3. Providing timely corrective actions on all assigned defects and issues.
  4. Ensuring that commitments are agreed, reviewed, and met.
  5. Mentoring junior engineers regarding technical matters.
  6. Making presentations effectively to technical and management audiences, and keeping abreast of novel technical concepts and markets.
  7. Authoring/co-authoring technical reports, papers, articles, patents, and presentations as required.
Your skills and experiences:
  • Educated to Degree level in Engineering, Mechanical, or Science Subjects.
  • Ability to design documentation and present these to customers and wider groups.
  • Ability to solve complex engineering calculations.
  • Engineering Lifecycle background.
  • Proficient in CAD, MS Office, and comfortable with other IT applications.

The T&C Engineering Support team:

As part of the team, you will have the opportunity to be involved in planning and reactive support to ensure the engineering aspects of testing and commissioning activities are undertaken safely and appropriately, maintaining design intent.
