My client is an independent award-winning consultancy in Yorkshire. They have a reputation as one of the leading consultancies in Yorkshire, and they are looking for a Senior or Principal Planner to join their successful team in Leeds. They are engaged in several exciting schemes, including Greenfield and Brownfield projects.

As a Senior / Principal Planner, you will provide professional planning advice related to strategic planning policy matters, engage in business development, and help expand the project portfolio.

This role offers a salary between £35k and £55k, career development opportunities, and a chance to demonstrate leadership and management skills. The ideal candidate will be a RTPI member with experience in the Local Plan system, political and commercial awareness, project leadership, and business development skills. Effective communication and workload management are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Promote sites through the Local Plan system, including preparing representations, Hearing Statements, and Advocacy Reports.
• Conduct engagement events, meetings, and participate in public examinations.
• Research and design planning policies to guide development.
• Perform statistical analysis and research, including socio-economic data, to support site promotion.
• Conduct planning appraisals to determine site development potential.
• Write high-quality reports with recommendations.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders in the planning process.
• Attend site visits and client meetings.
