Senior/Principal Planner

Cheltenham

My client is a multi-disciplinary, planning-led consultancy. They are looking for a Senior/Principal Planner to join their team in Cheltenham. They have an excellent track record for successfully delivering planning applications across various projects, including renewable energy, mineral extraction/restoration, leisure, residential, and rural developments.

You will:
  1. Lead and manage planning projects from inception to completion, overseeing development proposals, conducting feasibility studies, and evaluating planning applications.
  2. Develop and implement planning policies and strategies that promote sustainable development, environmental conservation, and community engagement.
  3. Coordinate with internal teams, external consultants, and stakeholders to align planning efforts with the city’s overall vision and goals.
  4. Engage with the community through public meetings, workshops, and outreach to gather input and feedback on planning initiatives.
  5. Stay updated on local, national, and international trends in urban planning and incorporate best practices into policies and projects.
  6. Provide expert advice to senior management, elected officials, and stakeholders on planning matters.
