Job description

Are you looking for the next step in your career and want to join a market-leading environmental consultancy team? Then you should join our team as a Senior/Principal Onshore EIA Consultant!

What you do as an Onshore Environmental Impact Assessment Consultant

We are seeking an enthusiastic, optimistic, conscientious and talented consultant with excellent communication skills and technical ability concerning EIA and the coordination and consenting of onshore aspects associated with the development of offshore wind farm projects.

As an EIA Consultant, you will work on various projects, utilising your environmental skills and expertise to support our clients through their EIA and consenting process, and then onto the discharge of planning conditions. You will assist with the delivery of complex environmental assessment projects, including coordinating multidisciplinary teams. Your role will involve directly working with clients, problem-solving, and representing the company in client offices and in regulator and stakeholder meetings.

Where you will work

We are an independent, employee-owned consulting engineering company. We come to work to solve our clients' most pressing issues and positively impact our world through challenging and exciting projects.

As an Onshore EIA Consultant, you will become part of our Environment Resilience Renewables (ERR) Group, which has been providing environmental solutions for our clients for over 30 years in the UK. We offer a comprehensive range of environmental services to support all sizes and types of development. Our portfolio of offshore wind projects includes high-profile projects such as Dogger Bank Offshore Wind Farm (OWF), Vanguard and Boreas OWFs, Hornsea Four OWF, Dogger Bank South and North Falls through to innovative projects such as the Green Volt Floating OWF. More widely, the team are involved in delivering carbon management, climate resilience, locally-driven habitat enhancement and broader biodiversity net gain projects, amongst others. We combine market-leading technical excellence, across the range of environmental disciplines, with a clear understanding of clients’ ambitions, needs and pressures.

We specialise in consenting, permitting and licensing support for complex infrastructure developments and operations. We have successfully supported our clients in delivering sustainable projects in sectors including renewable energy, industry, marine development and catchment management.

What you bring

You are an experienced consultant who is dependable, proactive and self-motivated. You have a flexible and innovative mindset, which helps you be adaptive and think off the beaten track. Since you will work directly with our clients, good interpersonal skills are necessary. Furthermore, you have:

  • Demonstrable experience in the delivery of EIAs, EIA coordination and the consenting process
  • Experience in onshore infrastructure projects with directly transferable skills to the renewables sector
  • Experience working with a variety of stakeholders
  • Experience in the discharge of planning conditions
  • Robust project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organisational, analytical and time management skills
What we offer you

We offer you a stimulating environment where we put people first and where you are empowered to craft your career path. Parallel to project delivery, we emphasise continued learning and development. As an employee-owned business, we invest in our staff through training, for example, opportunities to attend conferences/events and opportunities to become involved in company initiatives (e.g. digital talent programmes, commercial training).

Royal HaskoningDHV is an Equal Opportunities Employer. We have the clear goal of driving diversity and inclusion across all dimensions. Together, we are embarking on a journey where everyone, individually and collectively, welcomes and celebrates individual differences. We recognise that embracing diversity unlocks innovation and creativity and fosters collaboration. We want our employees to reflect the diversity of our communities and the customers we serve. This role can be fulfilled both full-time and part-time.
