Job Description:

Wood Process & Energy is looking to recruit experienced Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineers with extensive knowledge of international design codes in Packages such as BS, EN, ISO, ANSI, ASME, API to provide services within our Process & Energy business.

The position offers a 12-month contract and involves all project phases, including Concept, FEED, and Detailed Design, supporting EPC/EPCm frameworks in a high-profile role as part of a growing team working on large projects in sectors like Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Pharmaceutical, Renewables, and Hydrogen.

The role requires experience with a wide range of Packaged and Mechanical Equipment and involves delivering engineering and operational excellence through:

  • Executing assigned scopes of work
  • Supporting and supervising task delegation to team members
  • Possessing a degree and ideally Chartered Engineer status
  • Providing discipline expertise to the business

Process Ownership:

  • Adhere to relevant discipline-specific procedures and contribute to continuous improvement
  • Participate in audits and incident investigations

Subject Matter Expertise:

  • Maintain technical competence and pursue professional development
  • Support the business with discipline expertise
  • Stay informed about relevant regulations, industry standards, and technological developments
  • Contribute to scope definition and project execution
  • Experience in operational and maintenance engineering is preferred
  • Work independently, identify risks related to project quality, cost, or schedule
  • Manage supplier design and manufacturing activities, chair coordination meetings, and support design reviews
  • Degree qualified, Chartered with IMechE
  • Experience with a broad range of Mechanical Equipment
  • Previous lead engineer experience in project environments is preferred
  • Good communication skills and flexible attitude
  • Experience with EPC contractors, operators, or consultants in relevant sectors
  • Extensive knowledge of international design codes: BS, EN/ISO, ANSI, ASME, API
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and other common software
