Job description

The Position

You will join an established team of Engineers as a Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineer, supporting the delivery of a variety of Design & Build projects as part of major capital investment programs.

The successful candidate will be involved in the whole project life cycle, from feasibility and pioneering through to detailed design and construction support, including site surveys and investigations. There are opportunities to work on projects in water, wastewater, energy, infrastructure, and environmental sectors.

As an experienced Mechanical Engineer, you will liaise with project managers, technical leaders, design engineers, clients, supply chain partners, contractors, planners, and other stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.

This company offers opportunities for learning and development, and you will help develop the team by mentoring less experienced members.

About You

The ideal candidate is a Chartered or Incorporated Mechanical Engineer with experience in mechanical design, preferably in the water industry. You should be experienced in producing technical specifications, pump sizing, hydraulic calculations, and familiar with collaborative reviews and design solutions.

You should be able to contribute to collaborative design outputs such as General Arrangement Drawings, 3D models, and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams. Strong communication skills are essential for technical presentations and discussions, including workshops and HAZOPs.

Understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes and experience in assessing site infrastructure are important. Experience in energy, infrastructure, or environmental sectors is a plus.

Most importantly, you should embody values of client focus, community-minded designing, collaboration, and service excellence.
