The VacancyBinnies UK, part of the
RSK Group, is seeking
Senior and Principal Mechanical Design Engineers to work on both
clean water and
wastewater schemes. The role involves delivering engineering solutions from concept
design to detailed design for
construction.
Key responsibilities- Producing clear engineering deliverables such as general arrangement drawings, equipment sizing calculations, datasheets, schedules, and reports.
- Ensuring compliance with in-house procedural & quality systems.
- Developing key multidiscipline deliverables like P&IDs.
- Managing design interfaces and integrating mechanical design into overall projects.
- Collaborating with project teams, other disciplines, project managers, and clients.
- Undertaking technical bid assessments and providing technical support on-site.
- Providing technical guidance and supervising project teams.
- Managing budgets, schedules, and quality requirements.
Person SpecificationCandidates should have a background in Mechanical Engineering within the water industry or related fields, with qualifications, skills, and experience including:
- Design experience in water and wastewater systems, including equipment specification and hydraulic design.
- Knowledge of standards, CDM, procurement, and document control.
- A degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience.
- Strong communication skills and high computer literacy.
Desirable Requirements- Professional qualifications (IEng / CEng MIMechE).
- Leadership qualities, support for continuous improvement, and mentoring skills.
- Drive for career progression and staying updated with industry developments.
