Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineer

• Location: Horsham, West Sussex

We work alongside you to deliver proven surveillance and fire control solutions for the most demanding environments. We currently require a Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our skilled engineering team to design and build innovative systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design electro-mechanical mechanisms and precision machinery with innovation.
• Lead a small, multidisciplinary project design team to produce quality solutions respecting cost, time, and quality constraints.
• Create designs in 3D CAD using SolidWorks.
• Perform engineering analysis including stress, fatigue, and vibration, using conventional methods and computer simulations.
• Conduct lab testing to verify and validate design outputs against requirements.
• Develop engineering reports for new product designs, failure investigations, and formal documentation to meet customer needs.
• Coordinate with electronic, control, and drive systems teams for integrated designs.

Skills & Experience:

• Experience in designing complex mechanisms and structures.
• Proven ability to lead system design from concept to production.
• Ability to analyze loads and design solutions for drive mechanisms and motors.
• Understanding of machining, casting, fabrication, and moulding techniques.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
