Job Description:

Wood is currently resourcing for upcoming projects. We are seeking expressions of interest for Senior, Principal & Lead Instrument & Control Engineers working on a staff basis in Staines.

In this role, you will be responsible for executing project work according to Discipline Design Instructions, Wood and/or Project Procedures on Safety and Quality Control, within the man-hour, cost budgets, and schedule targets.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, able to work independently, and confident in delivering the Control and Instrumentation scope on time and within budget, while coordinating with other global execution centers.

Scope of work includes:

  • Develop specifications and prepare material requisitions for control systems, instruments, control valves, and other instruments.
  • Issue material requisitions to the Material Management Department for enquiry, ordering, and revisions.
  • Prepare and update the Master Requisition Index regularly.
  • Review vendor quotations, evaluate technical and commercial aspects, and recommend suitable vendors.
  • Hold coordination and engineering review meetings with vendors of major equipment.
  • Liaise with other groups and the client as necessary.
  • Assess project progress, suggest recovery plans, and implement corrective actions.
  • Report major slippages, technical issues, and policy matters to the Chief/Principal Instrument Engineer.
  • Assist in preparing Auxiliary Flow Diagrams and maintain project document filing systems.
  • Ensure quality standards in project deliverables within budget and schedule.
  • Participate in site visits, surveys, and discussions with vendors, contractors, and clients.
  • Support discipline contributions to proposals, including technical content interpretation and cost estimates.
