Senior/Principal Hardware Engineer, Rochester

This role is with a reputable organisation in the defence sector, seeking a Senior/Principal Hardware Engineer in Rochester. The contract is for 12 months, within the Electronic Systems division, focusing on hardware engineering initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop hardware systems, including digital and analogue electronics.
  • Manage the full engineering lifecycle from concept to product certification.
  • Utilise tools such as Mentor Graphics Expedition, Simetrix or Spice, and Chronology.
  • Apply signal integrity principles and use system development tools like Enterprise Architect, Matlab, and Simulink.
  • Manage requirements with tools like DOORS, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Consult on cost and schedule constraints to meet project needs.
Job Requirements:
  • Experience with Mentor Graphics Expedition.
  • Proficiency in analogue simulation tools such as Simetrix or Spice.
  • Knowledge of timing design tools like Chronology.
  • Understanding of signal integrity principles and tools.
  • Experience with system development tools (Enterprise Architect, Matlab, Simulink).
  • Requirements management experience with tools like DOORS.
  • Experience working on safety-critical systems.
