Job description

Senior/Principal Fire Risk Assessor

Contract type: Permanent

We are seeking a Senior/Principal Fire Risk Assessor to develop a compliance team as part of our national Fire Team.

Our fire engineering expertise covers projects from concept to construction, ensuring buildings comply with regulations. Our team has extensive experience in residential, commercial, industrial, and high-hazard process construction projects. This role involves taking ownership of projects after the completion of stage 5 reports by our designers.

The ideal candidate will have entrepreneurial flair, commitment, and passion, with the ability to establish and manage a dedicated fire risk assessment team as a standalone business entity.

Responsibilities include:

  • Upholding Fire Safety Strategies during construction
  • Commissioning fire safety systems before building occupation
  • Conducting pre- and post-FRA inspections and ensuring health and safety compliance
  • Providing technical advice in line with The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order
  • Providing Fire Warden Training
  • Producing Fire Safety Management Plans and evacuation plans

Essential requirements:

  • Proven experience in completing Fire Risk Assessments
  • Recognized qualification in fire safety management and risk assessments (e.g., Fire Protection Association, Fire Industry Association)
  • NEBOSH qualification
  • Full, maintained CPD log in fire prevention
  • Minimum Technician membership with the Institute of Fire Engineers
  • Recognized third-party accreditation (e.g., Institute of Fire Engineers Register of Fire Risk Assessors)
  • Ability to work autonomously with excellent time management
  • High literacy and communication skills
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Ability to plan and organize workloads effectively
