Due to the growth of the business area, Leonardo has an opportunity for an Electronic Design Engineer to join our Sensors Team.

This role provides an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual to develop and grow their skills within a thriving organization. You will join a dedicated multi-disciplined Integrated Project Team (IPT) with a full workload, offering vast potential for personal and professional growth.

What You Will Do

Supporting our precision guidance (PG) programmes, you will engage in activities such as:

• Requirement definition and verification plan development
• Electronic design analysis, circuit simulation, and prototyping
• Electronic schematic capture and PCB layout support
• Power supply and interface circuit design for digital processors and microcontrollers
• High-speed digital design including FPGA, DDR, and high-speed LVDS video designs
• Testing and debugging electronic circuits
• Development of subsystem engineering solutions and specifications
• Cabling and connector specifications
• System and sub-system integration and verification
• Support for qualification, including EMC testing
• Production and delivery support

This role spans the entire product lifecycle, from initial concept to production support and fielded designs.

What You Really Must Have

• Knowledge and experience across all stages of the engineering development lifecycle

Experience in:

• Digital & analogue electronic design
• Board-level PCB design (preferably using Siemens EDA Xpedition Enterprise)
• Operating at the product system level
• Specifying and defining COTS items
• Working with subcontract suppliers
• Specifying cable and connector solutions
• System-level integration
• Making technical decisions within your responsibility
• Working proactively in a fast-paced environment

It Would Be Nice If You Had

• Knowledge of safety, security, and legislative constraints
• Experience with Electronics Warfare and Thermal Imaging Systems
