Job Description:

Are you interested in working on innovative projects such as Erebus, Salamander and Dolphyn? ERM is a leading consultancy in consenting floating offshore wind projects and we need your skills!

We are seeking a Senior to Principal EIA Consultant (depending on experience) in offshore wind. Experience of consenting Scottish offshore wind projects is essential – and we are interested to hear from candidates from regulatory, consulting or developer backgrounds. ERM has a flexible approach to location and this role can be based at any one of our offices in Aberdeen, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Harrogate, York, Manchester, Norwich, Pembroke, Cardiff, Bristol, Oxford, London or Southampton. We work on a Hybrid basis (circa eight days per month in the office).

Our long-term clients include some of the largest developers and we work across a wide variety of projects including onshore and offshore wind, green hydrogen, solar, battery storage, and grid connection. We also provide advice to government.

You’ll be part of an exciting and growing team providing expert environmental consultancy services to internal and external clients, as well as leading the work of less experienced team members. You’ll lead environmental inputs for planning applications ranging from screening and scoping to environmental appraisals and large-scale EIA projects, as well as post planning condition discharge.

What’s on offer?

We offer flexible working to suit your life – need to do the school run? Not a problem! More productive and happy if you work from home a few days per week? Go ahead! Love to travel? Ask about our Cross Border Remote Working! You’ll have 25 days annual leave + public holidays, 6% pension contribution, twice annual promotion opportunities, annual salary review and performance related bonus, private medical insurance, life assurance, income protection, employee assistance programme, volunteering and Give As You Earn opportunities, travel season ticket loan, premium account for Calm (the #1 app for sleep and meditation), Cycle2Work Scheme, plus discounts on gym membership and gift cards for a wide variety of retailers and restaurants. We offer employees a Safety First, diverse and inclusive culture in which difference is embraced, valued and celebrated. With a robust career framework in place and 20+ technical communities of global experts you can join, there are great opportunities to advance your career here at ERM.

About you

Experience of consenting and marine licencing for Scottish offshore wind projects is essential for this role. You’ll be degree qualified in an environmental discipline, will have experience which may be drawn from previous roles in a consulting, regulatory or industry environment, and you’ll possess comprehensive understanding of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).
