Senior / Principal Ecologist
Hybrid working (remote and in-office attendance)
Location: Cambridge
Permanent, full-time or part-time
Salary: Up to £50,000 (full-time equivalent), dependent on experience

We are offering an exciting opportunity to join our ecology team, working closely with our Ecology Leads for the Southern Region. The role is suitable for self-motivated individuals who enjoy site surveys and thrive in a dynamic, supportive environment.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver ecology and biodiversity surveys and assessments, including site surveys, data processing, and reporting.
  • Support and mentor junior team members and develop client-facing skills.
  • Provide technical support, lead habitat and species surveys, and undertake desk-based tasks such as desk studies, consultations, research, and assessments.
  • Prepare scope of works, fee proposals, and health and safety documents.
  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
  • Support team operations and take on wider responsibilities.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum of four years relevant UK experience.
  • Driving license preferred.
  • CIEEM membership preferred.
Skills and Attributes
  • Excellent communication and team skills.
  • Ability to undertake site work, including overnight stays.
  • Strong report writing, data analysis, and project management skills.
  • Good knowledge of relevant legislation and policies.
  • Desirable: Protected Species Licences, GIS experience, bat sound analysis, Habitat Regulations Assessment experience.
