The Vacancy

ADAS, part of the RSK Group, is seeking Senior / Principal Ecologists to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, with travel to our Wolverhampton office.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct baseline habitat surveys, assessments, and prepare reports
• Collaborate with ecologists regionally to ensure quality project delivery
• Communicate with clients to meet project deadlines
• Write technical reports such as ecological constraints, Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, Ecological Impact Assessments, and protected species reports
• Assist with business development and project management
• Perform additional tasks as reasonably expected within your capability

Person Specification

• Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle
• Graduate education in a relevant subject
• Ecology-related experience
• Knowledge of ecology legislation, survey techniques, protected species surveys and mitigation
• Strong report writing skills
• Project management desire and experience
• Pro-active, solution-oriented attitude
• CIEEM membership
• Experience with Biodiversity Net Gain and UKHABs
• Botanical skills (e.g., NVC, Condition Assessments)
• Protected species license (e.g., Great Crested Newt or Bats)
• Willingness to obtain or hold protected species survey licenses (desirable)

Salary and Benefits

• Up to £45,000 per annum, depending on experience and level
