Job summary

Cura Terrae is seeking a Senior/Principal Ecologist to join our Land and Nature division. You will lead multidisciplinary projects, provide expert input, and support junior ecologists while upholding high standards and client satisfaction.

You will apply knowledge of UK habitats and species, deliver habitat and protected species assessments, write QA‑driven reports, and contribute to business development as the team grows.

Qualifications

• You’ll have knowledge of best practice standards and legislative drivers that apply to UK habitats and species.
• You’ll have experience in assessments for habitats and protected species as well as report writing and Quality Assurance.
• It would be advantageous to hold protected species survey and/or mitigation licences.
• You’ll manage complex projects and often engage in business development activities with existing or new clients, seeking opportunities and communicating with the wider team.
• You’ll have an undergraduate degree and preferably a post-graduate qualification in a relevant subject, demonstrate the ability to work proactively and flexible in support of changing workloads.
• As an Ecologist we will empower you to develop your skills further and take on more responsibility to undertake surveys and reports.
