Senior Principal DS Scientist - Permanent - Wrexham, UK

Proclinical is seeking a Senior Principal Scientist to lead strategic projects in biomanufacturing processes, focusing on API/Drug substance processing. This role involves developing innovative solutions for upstream and downstream strategies, ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency. You will serve as the scientific leader for API/Drug substance manufacturing and lead the Purification Chromatography Community of Practice.

The Senior Principal DS (Drug Substance) Scientist will:

• Expertise in MS&T bioprocesses, including fermentation, purification, chromatography, and filtration.
• Proven leadership skills in managing multidisciplinary scientific teams.
• In-depth knowledge of CMC development and global regulatory requirements.
• Experience in driving innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to align technical programs with business objectives and manage budgets and timelines.

Skills & Requirements:

• Lead and manage biomanufacturing processes, including upstream and downstream strategies.
• Mentor and develop a team of scientists, structuring their work for superior performance.
• Oversee advanced projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
• Design and implement analytical and process characterization strategies for API/DS processes.
• Foster innovation by encouraging new methodologies and technologies.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and prepare teams for successful inspections.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure project success.
