A leading healthcare provider in Glasgow seeks a Senior Principal Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to deliver high-intensity psychological therapies in community mental health teams. The ideal candidate will have a Doctorate in Psychology, substantial experience in adult mental health services, and be HCPC registered. Join a supportive team with access to continued professional development opportunities.
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
The shift pattern for this post is Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
A full time Band 8b vacancy for a Senior Principal Clinical/Counselling Psychologist has arisen in South Glasgow and East Renfrewshire Community Mental Health Teams (CMHTs). This successful postholder will be based in the Admin Building at Leverndale Hospital but will be required to work into any of the five CMHTs across the sector according to greatest need. You’ll deliver high quality, high intensity psychological therapies to adults receiving care and treatment in the CMHTs, contribute to service development and innovation to optimise efficiencies and contribute to the supervision of the psychological interventions being delivered by MDT colleagues and by trainees and assistant psychologists. You will therefore have completed, or be eligible for, the appropriate clinical supervision training. You’ll be supervised and line managed by a CMHT-based Consultant Clinical Psychologist, and join the large and dynamic South Psychology Dept where you’ll be well supported and have access to CPD opportunities.
You’ll hold a Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology and be registered as such with HCPC. You’ll have significant post qualification experience of delivering psychological therapies to working age adults in an NHS adult mental health service.
Please contact Dr Allison Blackett for an informal discussion about the post and the team at Allison.blackett@nhs.scot or 0141 211 6629.
