Job summary

Ramboll is seeking a Senior Civil & Structural Engineer to lead technical direction for UK power infrastructure projects within the Transmission & Distribution sector. You will act as a technical authority, design manager, and mentor to engineers across multiple offices.

In this role you will shape proposals, attend client and marketing meetings, and support bid strategy while ensuring compliance with UK standards and CDM regulations. A full UK driving license is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree (BEng / MEng) in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer status (CEng MIStructE).
• 10+ years' experience in civil & structural engineering with strong T&D exposure.
• Proven experience in Transmission & Distribution infrastructure, including substations and power networks.
• Experience working with National Grid and DNOs (UK Power Networks, SSEN, SPEN, WPD, etc.).
• Experience in framework delivery environments.
• Demonstrable experience as a Lead Engineer, Design Manager, or Technical lead.

Responsibilities

• Technical & Design Leadership for substations, OHL foundations, cabling routes and associated T&D infra.
• Ensure compliance with UK standards (Eurocodes, BS EN) and CDM Regulations.
• Training & Capability Development: lead training strategy for civil and structural engineers in T&D; deliver technical, design standards and best practice workshops; mentor grads and mid-level engineers.
• Client, Commercial & Marketing: support bid and marketing meetings as senior technical rep; contribute to bid strategy, scope definition, technical proposals and cost inputs.
• Project & Business Support: provide technical input to planning, resourcing and risk management; support innovation and design efficiency initiatives.
