Job Opportunity: Senior/Principal Acoustic Consultant

An exciting opportunity is available with an independent acoustic consultancy based in Brighton, specializing in a wide range of acoustics including commercial development, schools, and public sector projects. Due to increased workload, our client seeks a Senior/Principal Acoustic Consultant with experience in managing projects and leading teams in both environmental and building acoustics sectors.

Qualifications
  • Qualified in a recognized technical discipline such as acoustics, noise control, or noise and vibration.
  • Institute of Acoustics Membership.
  • Full Driving License.
Experience
  • Significant acoustic consultancy experience, preferably in environmental acoustics; building acoustics experience is also valuable.
  • Previous experience in the rail sector is desirable.
  • Strong communication and client liaison skills.
  • Proven ability to manage workload and supervise others.
  • Commercial awareness and team-oriented mindset.
  • Solid background in project and people management.
Responsibilities
  • Provide advice and research support to local authorities, central government, and other clients.
  • Prepare high-quality technical documents.
  • Liaise with clients, respond to inquiries, and develop the acoustics business.
  • Identify new areas for work and provide acoustic design and advice.
  • Conduct residential development noise surveys.
  • Manage and mentor junior team members.
  • Perform noise measurement, assessment, and planning.
  • Oversee project and financial management.
  • Recommend and assess mitigation measures for noise protection.
Projects
  • Sound insulation testing.
  • Rail schemes, schools, residential, and industrial developments.
  • Construction noise assessments.
  • Transport schemes and public houses/clubs.
