Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Primary Care Nurse to join our team at HMP Wealstun, a category C prison located near Wetherby, Yorkshire.

HMP Wealstun is a male prison that focuses on training and education. We offer free parking on site, an on-site gym, and many training and progression opportunities.

Hours

37.5 hours a week, working between Monday to Sunday, 7.30am - 7.30pm. Shifts are over 3 days, with additional hours every 8 weeks. You will work every other weekend.

This is a full-time position with an annual salary up to £47,466 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse-led service and prevent hospital admissions
  • Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, respond to emergencies, assess patients, and conduct reception screening
  • Provide evidence-based, personalized care, listening to and acting on patient feedback
  • Deliver compassionate, non-judgemental care
  • Build strong relationships with partners and stakeholders to provide trustworthy and safe services
  • Promote best practices, clinical supervision, and continuous quality improvement
  • Share knowledge and support team development to ensure safe care
