Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Primary Care Nurse to join our Mental Health team at HMP Highpoint, a category C prison located in the village of Stradishall in Suffolk.

Highpoint is a male prison with a capacity of 1,370 males.

Highpoint Prison offers:

Hours:

• Monday - Sunday service, 37.5 hours per week
• 7:45 am - 6:15 pm
• Every other weekend and bank holiday included as part of rota
• 4-week rolling rota
• Open to discussing lower hours

This position is full-time, with an annual salary up to £42,000 - £45,000 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

• Lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver a nurse-led service and prevent hospital admissions
• Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening
• Seek out, listen to, and act on patient feedback to ensure care is personalized and informed by what matters to them
• Deliver non-judgmental care that makes a real difference, as defined throughout our bespoke Health in Justice competency framework
• Inspire excellence by forging strong links with partners and stakeholders, and providing a trusted, safe, and proud service
• Provide evidence-based care and promote continuous quality improvement, fostering a culture of shared learning
