Banking & Savings is at the heart of Nationwide: nearly £1 in every £10 saved in the UK is entrusted to us. As a Senior Pricing Analyst, you’ll be part of the team looking after the pricing, performance and planning for our millions of savings and current accounts.

You’ll be getting to the story behind the numbers, part of our journey to understand not just how the money moves, but the market and customer dynamics that are driving this. We are an inclusive and supportive team, who are curious about the markets we operate in and passionate about meeting our members’ Banking & Savings needs. We play a pivotal role in ensuring the strong financial performance of our products to ensure that Nationwide is built to last.

We are happy to consider flexible working approaches to help you perform at your best.

At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected.

For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at either our London, Swindon or Northampton, office.

What you'll be doing

  • Use internal and external information to build understanding and insight of savings and current account performance and effectively communicate this to key stakeholders
  • Use your commercial, numerical, and analytical skills to lead on the development of pricing proposals and operational forecasts
  • Lead analysis to inform decisions that will play a vital role in maintaining the profitability and sustainability of one of the most important areas of our business

About you

  • You will be a self-motivated, numerate and logical thinker who is able to create, gather and analyse data to piece together and clearly communicate the bigger picture
  • Strong PC skills, technical aptitude and experience in developing and maintaining analytics and reporting tools
  • Recent experience within an analytical role
  • Experience interpreting, manipulating and simplifying large datasets into digestible visuals and using complex formulae in Excel
  • Experience of leading and co-ordinating analytical pieces of work from initial brief to final recommendations
  • Experience of building relationships at all levels
  • Able to work well on your own initiative, with excellent time management skills
  • Be able to respond to a fast-paced market and maintain an ongoing understanding of latest market dynamics
  • Demonstrate curiosity and use your own initiative to uncover deeper insights

Our customer first behaviours put customers and members at the heart of how we work together. They are the set of behaviours that every colleague needs to display, in every role:

  • Feel what customers feel - We step into our customers’ shoes, using their feedback and insights to empathise with them and to understand their needs, so that every decision we make starts and finishes with our customers in mind
  • Say it straight - We are brave in speaking out and saying what we think – we’re honest and direct with good intent, openly sharing diverse perspectives to reach the best conclusions and using language everyone can understand
  • Push for better - We don’t settle for mediocrity, we challenge the status quo, taking responsibility for continuous improvement and personal development
  • Get it done - We prioritise what will have the greatest impact, we are decisive, and we take accountability for delivering brilliant customer outcomes.

You can strengthen your application by showing how our customer first behaviours resonate with you, and where you may have already demonstrated these.
