Job summary

Medical Protection Society is seeking a Senior Pricing and Data Science Analyst to lead complex, system-driven pricing initiatives across the UK & Ireland portfolio. The role blends advanced modelling, pricing governance, and mentorship, delivering end-to-end solutions with autonomy.

Qualifications

• Strong numerical degree (or equivalent experience) with significant experience in pricing, data science, analytics, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of pricing, analytics, and data science principles, with proven application in a commercial environment.
• Advanced Excel skills (modelling, pivots, VBA) and strong SQL capability, with experience working with large, complex datasets.
• Experience developing pricing systems, emulators, or analytical tools.
• Experience with statistical and predictive modelling techniques (e.g. regression, GLMs), or a strong interest in developing expertise in these areas.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of pricing models, emulators, and analytical tools to deliver robust, explainable outputs.
• Drive system-driven pricing initiatives and productionise models safely.
• Present clear insights and pricing recommendations to senior stakeholders and governance forums.
• Own renewal performance monitoring and KPI analysis to support performance tracking.
• Build and maintain pricing insight tools for operational teams and delegated authorities.
• Analyse pricing variance and guide discount strategy with underwriting.
• Design tools to support pricing decisions for high-value/high-risk segments.
• Apply elasticity modelling to inform pricing strategy and planning.
• Collaborate with underwriting and commercial teams across planning cycles for data-driven decisions.
• Provide technical mentorship to junior analysts and raise team capability.
