Description:

You will join the global analyst team in the Prices and Data Division at Benchmark with responsibility for data collection for the assessment products assigned to you, with a focus on Nickel and Cobalt related products.

A significant part of the role will be speaking with the global lithium-ion battery supply chain, forming relationships, and gathering first-hand data from industry.

An important aspect of the job is ensuring the information you gather, as well as other updates in the supply chain, are effectively communicated in our regular Price and Market Assessment publications in order to give a clear, concise view of the markets to readers.

During the early stages of your employment, you will be supported by the Prices leadership team but quickly be expected to become an expert in your field.

It is key that you are a motivated individual, with the discipline to work independently, a keenness to understand the global energy storage supply chain and are driven to learn more to assist widening the company knowledge and product base.

As part of your role, you will be given the opportunity to travel the world with particular emphasis on Asia.

Key responsibilities:

• Entrenching yourself in industry to form relationships with key players to gather data for Benchmark analysis.
• Databases Management and development of data models.
• Engaging with the analysts and wider Benchmark teams to share insight and market information.
• Producing written analysis and commentary on your given market for the Benchmark subscriber base.

Requirements:

• 3+ years experience covering Nickel and Cobalt markets
• Understanding of Price Reporting
• Analytical mindset, drive for deeper understanding and grow personal and company knowledge base of industry.
• Naturally organised and self-motivated individual.
• Have base knowledge of battery industry/supply chain
• To work within the start-up culture and mentality of Team Benchmark, which can require continuing to operate and undertake day to day duties while travelling across the world, including weekend work when travelling abroad.
• Strong numerical ability
• Fluent written and spoken English and Mandarin
• Experienced/proficient in Excel and PowerPoint preferred.
