  • As a Senior Preconstruction Manager, you will be part of the Design and Construction team within AMZ Global Engineering services, focusing on shaping the future of the Construction Industry through innovative, standardized, and scalable solutions, prioritizing safety, people, and sustainability.
  • This role offers opportunities to travel and work across multiple countries and cultures, primarily based in the UK with 50% travel within EMEA.
Key job responsibilities
  1. Manage complex, cross-functional industrial projects from site selection to design completion, permitting, and contract execution, coordinating with design teams and stakeholders.
  2. Control project scope, drive decisions, identify blockers, and escalate issues as needed.
  3. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, assess risks, and influence outcomes.
  4. Oversee professional service providers to ensure skills meet project needs.
  5. Perform pricing reviews, negotiate costs, and manage budgets.
  6. Estimate costs, manage due diligence, schedule tracking, and forecasting to ensure successful project handovers.
  7. Supervise the implementation of Amazon’s safety programs and standards.
  8. Maintain high standards and drive accountability.
  9. Negotiate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers.
A day in the life

You will ensure on-time and within-budget project execution, improve processes, and lead and mentor teams. You will communicate across departments, evaluate project feasibility, and manage risks and issues, acting as the primary escalation point.

Your tasks include site validation, due diligence, design management, contract negotiations, stakeholder management, and jurisdictional coordination. Strong communication skills are essential.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field with relevant experience.
  • Experience managing projects from design to operation, including contract negotiations.
  • Experience in logistics or similar complex facilities is preferred.
  • Fluent in English; other languages are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s in engineering, operations, supply chain, or related STEM field.
  • Experience across multiple construction disciplines.
  • Knowledge of BIM and experience with Amazon FC launches.
  • Languages such as German, French, Polish, Arabic, Turkish, Afrikaans, Zulu are preferred.
  • Willingness to travel within Europe and EMEA.
