This pivotal role leads the pre-construction function on major bids, some valued over £100m, collaborating with clients, consultants, and internal teams to craft winning solutions.

Qualifications

• Senior pre-construction or bid leadership experience in a main contractor.
• Proven track record delivering large-scale projects (£50m - £100m+).
• Excellent commercial awareness and understanding of construction methodologies.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to lead and inspire teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Degree qualified in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full pre-construction lifecycle from initial enquiry to contract award.
• Oversee bid strategy, programme development, and cost planning with estimating teams.
• Engage with clients to understand drivers for tailored submissions.
• Coordinate design, commercial, and operational stakeholders.
• Drive innovation, value engineering, and risk management throughout bids.
• Mentor and develop junior pre-construction team members.
• Ensure governance, compliance, and quality standards are met.
