Job summary

Amazon Data Services UK Limited – EMEA Data Center Construction is seeking a Senior Pre-Construction Manager. You will lead cross-functional teams through site selection, permitting, and contract execution, while setting standards and delivering high-quality documentation for global programs.

You will coordinate with Real Estate, Design Engineering, Construction, and finance to drive milestones, manage risks, and ensure on-time, on-budget project handovers across EMEA data centers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required or equivalent.
• 　
• 7+ years of negotiations with general contractors and evaluating bids/proposals with detail and accuracy.
• 7+ years of experience in mission critical facilities (design, pre-construction, scheduling, construction and commissioning) or equivalent.
• 5+ years of construction site management.
• Knowledge of safety, quality standards and local regulations with experience as a client.
• Excellent communication skills for front line and executive level managers.

Responsibilities

• You will review and provide input into global standards and data center template designs.
• You will independently support, overview and manage complex Data Center projects from site selection, permitting and contract execution, keeping stakeholders informed.
• You will drive scope progress, clear blockers, and escalate appropriately.
• You will work with real estate, design engineering, construction, finance, architects, engineers, permitting agencies, developers and landlords to secure resources, scope builds, set priorities, and drive results.
• You will negotiate with general contractors and evaluate bids/proposals, participating in pricing reviews and negotiating costs.
• You will evaluate due diligences, schedule tracking, and identify factors that may impede project hand-over to stakeholders.
• You will insist on high standards, drive accountability, and may coach or discipline as needed.
• You will lead negotiations with contractors and procurement partners and report on schedule, cost and budget.
