Job summary

An established industry player is seeking a Senior Practitioner to enhance the lives of young deaf individuals through engaging youth sessions and activities. Job description

Location: Based at Chester, Northwich or Macclesfield with travel in Cheshire West and Chester, Cheshire East and Warrington

Hours: 22.5 hours per week

DSN are looking to recruit a Senior Practitioner to work alongside their Youth Worker and team of sessional Youth Support Workers on this programme. The core delivery areas for young deaf people will be youth sessions, holiday activities, youth council sessions and young leaders’ programme for 8 – 18 year olds. Additionally, sessions will also be offered to older groups aged 19 – 25.

The Senior Practitioner will have experience in:

  1. Working in the youth sector
  2. Managing projects
  3. Working as part of a team and managing others

And they need someone who:

  1. Has great communication skills
  2. Is approachable and professional
  3. Can work independently in a demanding and rewarding role

This role will include ensuring that the needs of deaf young people are at the heart of the project, and that young people experience positive differences and outcomes, including increased confidence and independence. The job is for a 3-year fixed term with travel across Cheshire West and Chester, Cheshire East and Warrington, so the use of a car is essential.
