Overview

Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for a Senior Practitioner within the Social Work Academy Team to work full time based in Luton. The salary for this permanent Senior Practitioner job is up to £43,421 per annum.

Responsibilities
  • Provide reflective supervision to explore NQSWs’ practice and factors influencing their practice responses (including emotions, assumptions, power relations and the wider social context).
  • Develop a shared understanding of the knowledge base informing their analysis and the limitations of their thinking, and use this understanding to inform next steps.
  • For new starters, provide reflective supervision weekly for the first six weeks, fortnightly until the six‑month review, and a minimum of bi-monthly thereafter.
  • Promote resilience and empower NQSWs to advocate for themselves and the children and families they work with, including professional challenge with managers and colleagues.
  • Co-work complex cases and use advanced professional knowledge, skills, experience and initiative to help NQSWs develop assessment skills to identify and analyse risk to children and develop safety and supportive plans.
  • Co‑work cases in crisis with the NQSWs, directing the social workers and influencing decision making on the case; support practice development towards excellence.
  • Support and mentor the practice development of NQSWs by reviewing their work before submission to the Team Manager for authorisation and informal quality assuring their case files against “what good looks like”.
  • Attend all case work supervision with your NQSWs; write a case note detailing decisions and tasks, and review these decisions two weeks after case supervision.
  • Support NQSWs to gather and analyse sensitive and confidential information on families and record on LCS, collating key information relating to children's safeguarding and protection.
  • Support NQSWs to maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with the Data Protection Act and GDPR.
  • Within the first six weeks, provide bespoke induction to all NQSWs; support and provide feedback during home visits, meetings, and multi-agency settings in liaison with partner agencies.
  • Contribute to NQSW assessment reviews at three, six and twelve months of their assessed year of employment.
