Senior Practitioner - Single Point of Access Service

Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for an Adult Senior Practitioner within the Single Point of Access Team to work full time based in Enfield.

Based in the bubbling heart of Enfield Town; Enfield's recently refurbished open plan office has bespoke areas for service users and is an environment which supports their smart working policy surrounded by small businesses, bars, restaurants, a buzzing high street and shopping centre. The high-tech multi-agency office has good transport links into Central London and is easily assessable via the M25, A10 and A406.

The salary for this permanent Senior Practitioner job is up to £47,805 per annum.

The team is the first point of contact for service users, carers and organisations wishing to refer into Adult Social Care for advice, information and community assessment and review.

Working alongside Occupational Therapists and Social Care assessors you will be utilising a strength-based approach and the three conversation model to promote independence and well-being. You will work in line with the Care Act to promote service users choice and control in their daily lives while respecting the key elements of the act to ensure service users can contribute to society and continue to have meaningful, autonomous and self-determined lives.

The role is varied and includes working on a complex caseload, supervising Social Workers and contributing to the management team. There will be a strong emphasis on complex case management and resolving urgent issues taking into account adult safeguarding, personal budgets and needs led solutions with a problem-solving approach.

Due to the complex nature of the role you must be able to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing, producing timely assessments and appropriate support plans. You will have the ability to gather and record information in order to prioritise queries, resolve problems and signpost to alternative services. You will be highly motivated and familiar with dealing with complex and emotionally challenging situations through to resolution while ensuring service users and carers are supported with dignity and respect and are promoted to fully engage in the assessment process, in line with the principles of personalisation and self directed support.

Requirements of this Senior Practitioner job:

  1. As a regular and intrinsic part of this role requires you to speak and communicate to members of the public in English, the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken and written English is essential and consistent with the requirements of this role. This role also requires you to be polite and courteous when conversing with the public.
  2. Social Work Qualification and registration with Social Work England, with, ideally with a minimum of four years post qualifying practice, with a strong emphasis on physical disability, safeguarding and care management. (Best Interest Assessor Qualification and Practice Educator Qualification)
  3. Demonstrate highly skilled professional competence in social work practice by using extensive practice knowledge and working within agreed standards of best practice and codes of conduct in-line with Enfield Council's Polices and Social work England standards of practice and conduct.
  4. Knowledge and understanding of the legislative framework and good practice guidance that underpins Social Work practice in Adult Social Care including an ability to implement the standards of the Care Act and other relevant legislation, to promote s/user choice and control while ensuring good outcomes for both the s/user and organisation.
  5. Experience of completing assessments and care planning in line with the care act, making use of collaborative working with partner organisations to enable people to achieve their goals and outcomes, while maximising their independence through the use of resources such as community assets, assistive technology or equipment and adaptations.
