Job description

We are seeking to appoint a Senior Practitioner Psychologist or Senior CBT Therapist to our Level Two in-patient adult mental health service in Horsham. The position is for three days a week and may also suit a newly qualified or soon-to-be qualified practitioner psychologist on a preceptorship basis.

You will work with a highly resourced MDT, including a Principal Psychologist, providing a range of direct and indirect evidence-based approaches to our service users.

Main Duties of the Job
  • You will work alongside a Principal Practitioner Psychologist, delivering interventions such as schema therapy, CBT, EMDR, and Behavioral and Systemic Family interventions.
  • The post holder will be part of a MDT supporting service users through assessment, formulation, and delivering long-term evidence-based interventions.
  • You will join a friendly, highly skilled community of psychologists within the Forensic subdivision of the Specialist Services Division, located at 78 Crawley Road. Although not a forensic service, it operates under forensic leadership structures.
  • The service encourages flexible working arrangements.
  • CPD opportunities include training in HCR-20, EMDR, schema therapy, and behavioral family therapy.
  • The Trust offers a range of CPD opportunities, and the post-holder will be encouraged to develop special interests and expertise aligned with service and team objectives. A newly qualified peer support group has been established, and staff wellbeing initiatives are a focus.
