Job summary

Tripod Partners is seeking an experienced Senior Practitioner to join the Referral & Assessment team in Children’s Social Care. You will undertake statutory assessments under the Children Act 1989, lead on complex cases, and shape responses for children in need and protection.

You will collaborate with health, education, police, housing and voluntary sectors, mentor less-experienced staff, and maintain high standards of case records and GDPR compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering statutory assessments under the Children Act 1989.
• Ability to lead on complex cases and ensure child-centred outcomes.
• Strong professional judgment and ability to mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Carry a caseload of assessments (single, Section 17 and Section 47) and short-term work.
• Lead on complex cases and ensure children’s voices are heard and plans are outcome-focused.
• Work within a duty system, respond to referrals, and decide next steps.
