Job description

Sanctuary Personnel - Senior Practitioner Position

Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for a fully remote Senior Practitioner within the Fostering Team to work Full Time for Amber Fostering.

The salary for this permanent Senior Practitioner job is up to £45,000 per annum.

Responsibilities:
  1. Recruit, assess, and monitor the continued suitability and competence of foster carers ensuring they provide a safe, healthy, nurturing, and learning environment for children/young people.
  2. Ensure that carers fully understand the fostering task, outcomes to be achieved, and the agency's standards of practice expected in accordance with legislation, guidance, and agency policies and processes.
  3. Ensure foster carers undertake the required training and development activity in line with agency policy to ensure they have the requisite knowledge, skills, and ability to undertake the fostering task to expected standards.
  4. Contribute to foster carer reviews within required timescales, providing written evidence of competence and presenting review reports to the Fostering Panel as required.
  5. Participate in recruitment and undertake assessment of applicants.
  6. Attend meetings to support foster carers, children, and young people (all professional meetings relevant to any above parties).
  7. Ensure each child has an accurate and up-to-date Care Plan on file and that carers have a copy available for reference.
  8. Work in partnership with the relevant authority to ensure that the child and young person's needs, as identified in the Care Plan and placement agreement, are met.
  9. Ensure that comprehensive case recording is completed and maintained within policy timeframes.
  10. Complete administration and procedures in relation to significant incidents and Notifiable Events within agency timescales.
  11. Facilitate social and consultation activities relating to the support of children, young people, and foster carers.
  12. Contribute to and implement the agency development plan for service development, placement growth, and recruitment and retention of carers.
  13. Work as part of a team and develop and maintain positive working relationships with all colleagues to support the development of the agency.
Requirements:
  1. A professional Social Work qualification or equivalent.
  2. Understanding of relevant legislation.
  3. Registered or eligible for registration.
  4. Have a good working knowledge of the relevant legislation.
