Job summary

Sanctuary Personnel is seeking a Senior Practitioner/Advanced Practitioner for the Children with Disabilities Team in Rochdale, offering flexible ongoing hours as a locum. The role centers on managing complex cases and leading safeguarding work within the Children Act framework.

You will provide professional guidance, supervision, and mentorship to social workers and less experienced staff while supporting care planning and statutory responsibilities in a dynamic team setting.

Qualifications

• Degree in Social Work or equivalent.
• Registration with Social Work England (SWE).
• Significant post-qualification experience within Children's Social Care.
• Experience working within a Children with Disabilities Team.

Responsibilities

• Manage a complex caseload involving children with disabilities, focusing on child in need, child protection, and looked after children processes.
• Undertake statutory assessments, reviews, and care planning in line with the Children Act 1989, Children Act 2004, Care Act 2014, and Working Together to Safeguard Children guidance.
• Lead on complex safeguarding investigations, court work, permanency planning, and risk management activities.
• Provide professional consultation, mentoring, and practice guidance to Social Workers, ASYEs, and less experienced practitioners.

Education
