Job summary

Cambridgeshire County Council is seeking an experienced Senior Practitioner in the Children, Education & Families Service. The role focuses on complex safeguarding, assessments and court work, with leadership responsibilities for staff development and service improvement.

You will manage high-stakes cases, provide expert guidance, and work closely with schools, health services and partner agencies to promote positive outcomes for children and families.

Qualifications

• Recognised Social Work qualification with SWE registration.
• Experience handling safeguarding, court work, and risk assessments.
• Ability to lead, supervise and mentor colleagues to ensure high standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead on complex safeguarding assessments, investigations and court proceedings.
• Provide professional leadership and expert advice on risk management for complex cases.
• Coach and develop Social Workers and Practitioners through mentoring and education.
• Deputise for Team Manager and drive service improvements and performance.
