Job summary

Qualifications

Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Practitioner to join our dynamic team in Southwark, specializing in Extra Familial Harm. This critical role will involve working closely with children and young people who may be at risk from external influences, ensuring their safety and well-being through proactive engagement and tailored support. You will play a vital role in shaping best practices and leading initiatives that address the complex challenges faced by our community.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assessing and managing risks associated with Extra Familial Harm, including peer exploitation and community violence.
  • Developing and implementing care plans that address the unique needs of children and young people.
  • Collaborating with multi-agency teams to provide holistic support and safeguarding interventions.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior staff, providing guidance and support to enhance their professional development.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation in compliance with statutory requirements.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Social Work Degree, DipSW, MA in Social Work).
  • Current Social Work England registration.
  • Proven experience in child protection, safeguarding, and managing Extra Familial Harm cases.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, families, and professionals.
