Job Description:

Liquid Personnel is seeking an experienced Senior Practitioner to join their esteemed client’s Children in Care and Care Leavers Team. The ideal candidate must have Social Work England registration, be eligible to work in the UK, hold a degree-level qualification in Social Work, and possess post-qualified experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Undertake procedurally compliant assessments and section 47 enquiries to identify risk or need based on documented evidence.
  • Record and analyze information gathered during social care assessments in line with policies and guidance.
  • Conduct assessments leading to clear plans addressing issues for children in Newcastle.
  • Practice with an understanding of legislative principles, research, case law, and guidance.
  • Engage with children, carers, and families to understand their circumstances and inform interventions.
  • Record children’s contacts and referrals, assessing urgency, risk, and required actions.
  • Assist in preparing court statements and reports for children’s services.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and agencies to provide social care advice and interventions.
  • Prioritize cases based on urgency, risk, and needs to ensure children’s safety and well-being.
  • Support team functioning by engaging with colleagues, following processes, and mentoring less experienced staff.
  • Contribute to cross-agency working and represent the team in multi-agency meetings.
  • Engage in professional development, supervision, and stay updated with legal and best practice developments.
  • Provide guidance on local services and practices relevant to children, young people, and families.
