Job summary

Cambridgeshire County Council is recruiting a Senior Practitioner in the Leaving Care Team. The role involves leading practice for care-experienced young people aged 16–25, focusing on independence, education, employment, and stability into adulthood.

The post is part-time (30 hours), with a hybrid working pattern and office bases in Ely or Huntingdon. It requires Social Work England registration and experience in complex case management.

Qualifications

• Be a qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
• Ability to work from a variety of locations and travel countywide independently.
• Experience in complex case management and safeguarding practice is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in highly complex cases involving care-experienced young people, risk management and transition planning.
• Produce concise written and verbal reports for diverse settings based on analysis of complex information.
• Lead and supervise Social Workers, Personal Advisers and other practitioners.
• Support planning, allocation and review of children across the team.
• Provide oversight and quality assurance of Pathway Plans and transition planning.
• Support partnership work with housing, education, health, DWP and other agencies to promote positive outcomes.
