Senior Practitioner – Adult Safeguarding
Location: Jersey, Channel Islands
Salary Range:£68,437.82 to£76,236.77
Contract Type Permanent, Full time

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Practitioner to ensure the effective delivery of high-quality adult safeguarding work across Jersey.

This is a pivotal role, providing leadership and expert advice on complex safeguarding decisions, as well as consultancy, supervision, coaching, and training to internal teams and multi-agency partners.

You will be responsible for ensuring quality assurance in safeguarding practices, including the investigation of organisational abuse and high-risk cases. By applying the six principles of adult safeguarding, you will play a key role in protecting Jersey citizens, delivering tailored outcomes, and coordinating multi-agency strategies to manage and reduce risks of abuse and neglect.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and advise on complex safeguarding decisions.
  • Provide expert consultancy, supervision, coaching, and training.
  • Ensure quality assurance in safeguarding practices.
  • Investigate organisational abuse and high-risk cases.
  • Coordinate multi-agency safeguarding strategies and responses.

About You:

  • A professional qualification in Social Work.
  • Registered with the appropriate UK professional governing body and locally under the Health Care (Registration) (Jersey) Law 1995.
  • A post-qualifying certificate or diploma in adult safeguarding, or equivalent, is desirable.
  • A minimum of four years’ post-qualifying experience in a related social care field, including completion of the ASYE year.
  • Experience of providing social work services in a community, mental health, or hospital setting.
  • Proven experience of chairing complex, multi-agency, high-level risk meetings.
  • Knowledge of adult and children’s safeguarding issues and practice.
  • Experience of working in a senior role within adult social care or child/adult safeguarding.
  • A clean driving licence is required.
