Job summary

Hertfordshire County Council is looking for an experienced Qualified Children’s Senior Practitioner to join the 0-25 Disability Assessment Team, based in Stevenage. You will lead on complex cases, support less experienced staff, and drive high practice standards across a multi-disciplinary team.

The role covers Stevenage and Hemel Hempstead with travel between locations; a driving licence and vehicle access are essential. Flexible and hybrid working are encouraged where possible.

Qualifications

• Qualified and Social Work England Registered.
• At least 3 years post qualifying experience.
• Full UK Driving Licence and regular access to a vehicle.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of legislation, guidance, policy and procedures.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead on complex cases within the department.
• Shared responsibility for leading less experienced staff.
• Research and share up-to-date social work practices and ensure best outcomes for children and families.
