Job summary

Darlington Borough Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker with highly developed safeguarding adults expertise. You will triage concerns, complete initial enquiries, prepare s42 enquiry reports and chair safeguarding meetings.

As a Senior Practitioner, you will provide formal and informal supervision to team members and support the team manager when required. The role offers a comprehensive benefits package including generous annual leave and pension options.

This successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the following:

The Care Act (2014), Mental Capacity Act (2005), the Human Rights Act (1998), DOLS (2009), Domestic Abuse Act (2021), Making Safeguarding Personal, and other relevant local and national legislation and policy Frameworks.

You will be required to triage safeguarding concerns received, complete initial enquiries, complete formal s42 enquiry reports and chair safeguarding meetings.

As one of the Senior Practitioners within the team, you will play a key role in providing professional supervision on both a formal and informal basis to members of the team; you will also support the team manager when required.
