Opus People Solutions, on behalf of Walsall Council, has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Social Worker to join their Safeguarding Team.

Job Details:

• Title: Senior Social Worker - Safeguarding
• Length of assignment: 3 Months
• Hours per week: 37
• Hourly rate: 33.30
• Location: Walsall
• Remote/Office based: Hybrid - 3 days in the office

About the Role:

We have introduced the Family Safeguarding Model, where social workers collaborate with specialist adult practitioners to keep children safe in their families through timely help, protection, and support.

The model has been in place for over a year, and Ofsted has reported exceptional practice from social workers. This approach has led to:

• A reduction by half in the number of children supported by a child protection plan
• A 30% decrease in children entering care

Responsibilities:

• Working with families in need and at risk within the North locality, implementing Family Safeguarding principles.
• Collaborating with adult practitioners under the family safeguarding model.
