Opus People Solutions, on behalf of our client in the East of England, has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Practitioner to join their Children in Care Team.

Job Title: Senior Practitioner - Children in Care

Hourly Rate: £41.50

Work Pattern: Hybrid - one day a week in the office

The Role

We are seeking a Senior Practitioner to join the Children in Care Team. Our goal in this team is to achieve permanence for children and young people who are Looked After, ensuring they are in a safe, suitable home that meets their needs, promotes their safety and security, and supports their full potential at every developmental stage. We also encourage all Looked After children and young people to reach their educational potential and to maintain their physical and mental health.

Key Requirements
  • Provide leadership in complex cases involving risk, safety, and complexity concerning children, young people, carers, and families.
  • Prepare concise, informative reports based on analysis of complex evidence for various settings, including court.
  • Lead, guide, and support Social Workers and Child Practitioners, including supervision and performance development.
  • Support Newly Qualified Social Workers (NQSWs) in their ASYE, acting as assessor; also support Student Social Workers as their Onsite Supervisor or Practice Educator.
  • Assist in planning, case allocation, and review.
  • Participate in recruitment and staff induction processes.
  • Collaborate with the Team Manager to conduct case audits and undertake delegated management tasks.
Skills & Experience
  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Ability to work from various locations and travel independently across the county.
  • At least 3 years of post-qualifying experience.
