Job summary

Cuffley and Goffs Oak Medical Practice has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Practice Nurse. You will work across Cuffley Village Surgery and Valley View Health Centre, with either a full-time 37-hour-week role or two part-time nurses sharing the position.

Essential qualifications include a nursing degree, active UK NMC registration, and experience in general practice with clinical competencies across chronic disease management, cervical cytology, vaccinations, and wound care.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree with at least 2 years post-qualification experience in a general practice setting.
• Current UK professional registration with active NMC PIN.
• Completion or willingness to undertake Practice Nursing foundation program.
• Ability to run asthma, COPD and diabetic clinics or reviews.
• Experience in ECG, vaccinations, cervical cytology and minor surgery support.
• Demonstrated compassion, empathy and patient-centred care.
• Understanding of NHS issues and long-term condition management.

Responsibilities

• Manage chronic diseases across two sites to improve patient outcomes.
• Perform cervical smears, vaccinations and minor procedures as needed.
• Provide wound care and dressings, ECGs and health promotion advice.
• Monitor blood pressure, travel health advice and injections.
• Support routine immunisations and ensure vaccination schedules.
• Participate in regular clinical meetings and care reviews.
