Job summary

Trial Balance Consulting Ltd. in Newton Abbot is seeking a Senior Practice Manager to lead a substantial client portfolio and help direct the future of the business.

You will work closely with Partners, overseeing workflow, budgeting and billing while developing staff across the team. You'll provide trusted advice on accounts, tax and business matters, reviewing accounts and VAT compliance prior to Partner sign-off, attending client meetings and building long-term relationships.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualification with post-qualified experience in practice.
• Strong knowledge across accounts, VAT, tax and client management.
• Experience reviewing accounts and providing advisory services to clients.

This highly regarded accountancy practice in Newton Abbot is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Practice Manager. Working closely with the Partners, this role offers responsibility for a substantial client portfolio, team leadership duties and the opportunity to become a trusted advisor to a broad range of businesses and individuals.

The role of Senior Practice Manager will include:

• Managing and reviewing a varied portfolio of clients, ensuring work is completed to a high standard and within deadlines
• Acting as a trusted adviser to clients across accounts, tax and business matters
• Reviewing accounts, VAT and tax compliance work prior to Partner sign-off
• Attending client meetings and building strong long-term relationships

The successful Senior Practice Manager will hold ACA or ACCA qualification status and possess significant post-qualified experience gained within an accountancy practice environment.

You’ll have strong technical knowledge across accounts preparation, business and corporate taxation, VAT and client management, together with the confidence to oversee a varied portfolio with minimal supervision. Experience managing and developing staff will be important, alongside the ability to build trusted relationships with clients and colleagues alike.

As a Senior Practice Manager, you’ll be commercially aware, highly organised and comfortable balancing client demands, operational responsibilities and team leadership duties. Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks or Sage, together with strong IT and spreadsheet skills, would be advantageous.
